
Michael McTavish is an ecologist, researcher, and educator in the fields of ecological restoration, invasion science, and biological control. After completing his PhD at the University of Waterloo in 2019, Michael worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Toronto developing the biological control programs for introduced <I>Phragmites</I> and garlic mustard and coordinating the Ontario early detection program for invasive jumping worms. Michael joins the rare Charitable Research Reserve as a Conservation Scientist in 2025 to help lead the environmental research and monitoring programs.
