As the Lepidopterist at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Kathryn founded and coordinated of the Texas Butterfly Monitoring Network. She is interested in citizen science as a research tool, particularly with regard to butterflies, moths, and other insects. Although now "retired" to spend time raising her family, she still enjoys butterflying and other nature activities whenever she can.
