Pippen, Jeffrey S.

Jeff is a former faculty member at Duke University where he conducted research on forest ecology and climate change; taught courses in ecology, forestry, and wildlife surveys; and coordinated and conducted bird, herp, and butterfly surveys across North Carolina. From 2014-2016 he established and directed the MPG Ranch butterfly monitoring program near Missoula, MT. He is currently launching a North/South Carolina Butterfly Monitoring Program. Jeff works with Leslie Ries at Georgetown University to provide support to butterfly monitoring programs across the continent through PollardBase and The North American Butterfly Monitoring Network. In 2018, he gave a talk about some of his butterfly monitoring work at the Lepidopterists' Society annual conference in Ottawa, Canada, and in 2019 he presented a butterfly monitoring program at the Citizen Science Association Conference in Raleigh, NC.
